At least 20 people have been confirmed dead in the Pakistan Wednesday morning killing and 60 injured.
The 20 killed, according to reports were trying to scale the walls around the campus to safety. Some students and faculty were also taken hostage.
Four of the gunmen were killed during an exchange of gunfire with security forces, according to Military spokesman Lt. Gen. Asim Salim Bajwa.
The regional chief police chief Saeed Wasir said “There was heavy fog in the area when armed men entered … and started firing at the security guards, students and teachers” at Bacha Khan University in Charsadda,
A Survivor, Aizaz Khan said he thought he was hearing a fight when the shooting started.
“The Students said they heard firing from the back of the campus,” then the firing increased.
Police chief Saeed Wazir said law enforcement agencies had been called from neighboring districts to Charsadda and many students were rescued from their Hostels.
