The prison authorities debunked reports that it was a prison break, but the Interior Ministry that oversees the Prison Service is displeased with the incident.

Reports show that the two escapees who were awaiting trial for murder took advantage of the security lapse in the prison due to the absence of some prison officials from their duty post.

The Interior Minister says he expects a full report on the incident as an investigation has begun.
