Akwa United deny sacking coach Maurice Coreman

Chairman of Nigeria pro-football league side, Akwa United, Paul Bassey, has debunked claims the club has sacked Coach Maurice Cooreman and his technical team.Expressing disappointment in the reports, Bassey says only Goalkeeper’s trainer, Mike Ekpeyong and 10 players were disengaged from the team.

Akwa came from winning the Nigerian Federation Cup and qualifying for the CAF Confederation Cup last season to finishing a dismal 14th this season in the NPFL.

Reports have been going round that the club has sacked the Belgian Coach who had previously managed former African Champions, Enyimba Aba and Ikorodu United.
