Akwa United target coach Gbenga Ogunbote

Gbenga Ogunbote is now the top target for ambitious Akwa United after coach Imama Amapakabo opted to stay put at Enugu Rangers.

Imama was top choice for Akwa United, but the Uyo club will now turn their dragnet on experienced Shooting Stars coach Ogunbote.

Ogunbote has for the second straight season steered Shooting Stars to safety.

Many believe that with a bigger budget like that of Akwa United, he could make a much better impact in the league.

Gbenga Ogunbote has previously handled Sunshine Stars, Sharks, and Giwa.
