Ndume, Budget, Finance ministers fail to honour loan talk

The Senate is not happy with President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministers in charge of Nigeria’s economy. The Senate leader who is the chief marketer of government business and plans in the Senate is not hiding his disgust at their sluggishness in handling economic matters.

He lambasted the ministers of Budget and Finance for improper coordination, non-provision of relevant fiscal documents for legislative decision making and tarnishing the image of senators before Nigerians.

The Senate leader had requested a meeting with both ministers over the 29.9 billion US dollars external borrowing plan which was rejected for not containing a breakdown of areas  the loan would cover, but they did not show up.

The Senate is also angered by  comments in the media from top officials in the executive castigating the Senate for delays in budgetary procedures and confirmation of appointments.
