Consumer Protection Council orders redress of N2.5million in 2016

The Consumer Protection Council has disclosed that it has ordered redress up to the tune of N2.5 Billion for consumers in 2016.

This includes refunds and compensation in the resolution of complaints on unsatisfactory services and products.

Director general of the council made this known at the presentation of their annual report to the media and public in Lagos.

The DG added disclosed in the report that the organisation deployed the social intervention strategy in the satellite television services, food and beverage with particular reference to the beer industry, banking, hospitality, aviation and electricity sectors.
