Kiss Daniel escapes death in Calabar

Kiss Daniel narrowly escaped death in Calabar, Nigeria on Christmas day.

The singer was reportedly performing at Christmas Village in the state when robbers invaded the venue and started shooting into the air.

‘Some boys came into the village and tried to rob that guy, who sings ‘Oya talk to me o Mama’ (Kiss Daniel) while he was performing,’ a food seller, who was also attacked at the village, told The Guardian.

Businessmen pay the state government to do trade at the venue where the event occurs from December 1 to December 31 annually.

‘They threw bottles and other dangerous objects at him. They later brought out guns and began to shoot sporadically,’ a shop owner, Glory Akpan added.

Glory also narrated that the attackers removed Kiss Daniel’s clothes and they would have killed him.

Onlookers wondered how he survived the night which several people were injured as they ran for their lives.

The incident happened just three days after the ‘Woju’ singer’s rule at the 2016 Headies, where he won major awards for the Best R&B/Pop album, Hip Hop World Revelation and Album of the Year for New Era.
