LAUTECH students set for mass protest on January 9

The indefinite closure of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomosho, is not going down well with the Alliance of Nigerian Students against Neo-Liberal Attacks, ANSA.

The body says students across the country, will on Monday, January the 9th, protest against the seven months long shutdown.

Acting General Secretary of the students body, Juwon Sanyaolu, adds that the protest would be held simultaneously, in the capital cities of Oyo and Osun states.

The mass action, according to him, is for the outright rejection of imminent fees hike and to call for adequate funding and immediate reopening of the school, as well as unconditional reinstatement of the Students Union body of the institution.

LAUTECH has been shut since June 2016, over ownership and funding crises, caused by the two owner states, Oyo and Osun.
