Zamfara state partners USAID/PMI to tackle malaria

Zamfara state Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has directed the state Ministry of Health to workout modalities for collaboration international Development Partners fighting Malaria in the state.

He gave the order while receiving a delegation of stakeholders in fighting Malaria and other diseases in Nigeria, under the umbrella of USAID and Presidential Committee on Malaria Illumination in Nigeria.

Governor Yari expressed concern over the high number of malaria cases in the state.

Zamfara state is said to be one of the 7 worst malaria heated states and accounted for 63% of malaria cases in Nigeria.

The malaria expert commended the state for its quick response and effectiveness in record keeping and basic information in the fight against the disease.
