The House of Representatives has moved to intervene in the alleged harassment and intimidation of members of the All Progressives Congress loyal to the former state governor, Rabiu Kwankwanso by men of the Nigerian Police.
An ad hoc committee of the House is to invite the Inspector General of Police and the Kano State Police Commissioner with a view to averting a breakdown of law and order.

Politicians loyal to the former state governor, Rabiu Kwakwanso, are accusing the police in the state of hindering their political moves. Aliyu Madaki cites several instances when the police allegedly frustrated their lawful political gatherings
Madaki’s arguments elicits an immediate reaction from the Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, who insists the Kwakawnsiya group is taking the law into its own hands.
The situation nearly degenerates into a rowdy session as members shout him down
The motion also brings out the rivalry between the House Leader and the Minority Leader as both parliamentarians bared their minds on the issue at hand
At the end of all deliberations, the House resolves to set up an ad hoc committee that will interface with leading actors in the allegations, including the IGP and the State Police Commissioner.
The ad hoc committee is to submit its report in three weeks.
