Boko Haram : United Nations Security Council team arrives in Nigeria

The United Nations Security Council Visiting Mission to the Lake Chad Basin Region have arrived in Nigeria.
The delegation which met with Northeast stakeholders in Maiduguri, Borno states on Sunday is expected to meet with Nigeria’s acting President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja on Monday.

The visit is part of the UN Security Council’s mission under the UK Presidency, to the areas devastated by Boko Haram terrorists in the countries of the Lake Chad Basin – Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger.

The mission to Nigeria will get first-hand information on the various issues affecting the country.

This is the first time the UN Security Council is visiting Nigeria.
