Meningitis killed 745 in 8,057 cases, says FG

Image result for Meningitis outbreak: FG confirms 745 people deadThe Nigerian Government says 745 persons have died and there have been 8,000 suspected cases in the outbreak of cerebro-spinal meningitis.

Lawal Bakare of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, said about 95 percent of the cases have reached outbreak levels for meningitis serotype C.

The worst-hit states are Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, Kebbi and Niger.
