Speaking to news men, James, the Chairman of Comestar Cable Manufacturing Limited, said he was in captivity for 42 days. James was one of the victims who paid the highest ransom of $1.2m to gain his freedom.
He explained that he was abducted in Festac after he arrived the country from Canada where he went to visit his wife who just gave birth a month before the encounter and was shot alongside two of his drivers in the process.

He said a doctor was called in to treat him immediately they got to the hideout because he was bleeding so bad and although he wasn’t maltreated during his stay because of his condition, several other victims were and some most likely killed.
