While mothers sometimes get tired of preparing those heavy meals for their children to take to school, here is a simple recipe to help out.
Making the yummy ‘Chocolate Sandwich Cookies’ for breakfast on #WakeUpNigeria, was Tolu Samaiye in the company of yomi Owope.
The ingredients used were in two categories; dry and wet ingredients.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter
- Sugar
- Eggs
- Vanilla extract
- Dutch process cocoa powder
- Flour
- Baking soda
- Salt
Tolu started these delicious cookies which she said can be given to children in place of biscuits by mixing the sugar and butter til it gets fluffy.
After mixing it, she added eggs which is a wet ingredient and went on to add the dry ingrdients which are; flour, salt, baking powder, vanilla flavour, cocoa butter;after which she mixed all together with her hands.
After mixing, she began to mould the cookies into small balls with her powdered hands to avoid it sticking.
she mentioned that she is making it into balls because it is soft but it is better when thicker. she also added that brown sugar could be added depending on the preference of the chef.
“you can control your ingredients” she said
After moulding which she mentioned that children could help out with to make it fun, it is put in the oven (350 degrees) for 10-15 minutes. she warned that it should be checked from when it is in for 8 minutes.
After 15 minutes, the delicious chocolate sandwich cookies were ready and our special guest was glad to have some.
