The TV host and presenter who graduated from the University of Lagos, revealed that he stayed at home for a year because he was too young to get into the university, and then decided to take on a teaching job.

“If there is anything I would love to do outside entertaining, it would be teaching. I love teaching and I did it for a year after secondary school because I was too young to enter the university. When I gained admission into the university, I started modelling and I had to skip some classes.”

Speaking about his career so far, he noted that he was not made in a day and the money did not start coming in a day.

“Derenle was not built in a day. I was more about the creatives and my delivery, so i was cheated a lot. Back then before the advent of social media, people walk up to me and insult me, I have received different kinds of insults, confrontations and that’s why when I see people insult me on social media; I am like, ‘you don’t know where I am coming from.’ I have built an impressive data base, I have helped a lot of people, I did a lot of anchoring for free and some people are still owing me. Till now, I still anchor for free.”
