Chelsea’s goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois has declared he will consider leaving Chelsea for Spain due to family reasons.
It was reported that the keeper might reject a new contract even if Chelsea meets his wage demands. Reports had it that Real Madrid are trying to take him away from Chelsea by all means.
Both of Courtois’ kids are being raised in Madrid an the father is keen on spending more time with them.
Speaking with Spanish station, LaSexta, Courtois said: ‘Everybody knows that due to my personal situation, Spain attracts me. If it is not now, it will be in some years.’
Courtois is reportedly demanding £200,000-a-week – double his current salary – to remain at Chelsea, though even if they agree to those terms he still prefers a move to Spain.
Chelsea wants to give him an extension on his current deal, which has 18 months left to run, and more talks will he held later in the season.
