Two fake pastors heading churches in Ondo and Kwara states were nabbed yesterday by men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) for defrauding and sexually abusing unsuspecting worshippers.
As relayed to DailyTrust by the Ondo State Commandant of the NSCDC, Pedro Awili Idebo, the two Pastors, Messr. Dada Babaroti and Clement Olatunde Fabeku, had been extorting worshipers using ‘diabolical and fetish’means.
Mr Idebo explained that Fabeku operates the Truth and Life Bible Church located in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, while Babaroti is the General Overseer of the Blood of Jesus Christ, in Idanre area of Ondo State.
Also, that men of the command moved into action and arrested the suspects after some worshippers cried out after falling victim. Some church members reported the criminal activities of the duo to the corps and were later busted in a sting operation.
The state commandant stated that some fetish items used in swindling the victims were recovered from the two suspects.
Mr Idebo then emphasized that the command has began to focus on fraudsters in the state and would make sure that culprits are prosecuted.
