It is understood that the Catalans will pay £106m upfront, with a further £44m to follow depending on appearances and team success.

This is the second-most expensive transfer of all-time, trailing the £198million PSG paid for Neymar to Barcelona  last summer – and it is the highest transfer fee ever received by an English Football club for a player. The Mirro reports.

Coutinho will put pen to paper on a five-and-a-half-year deal and is expected to be unveiled this week.
