Why Kanye West and Kim Kardashian named their third child ‘Chicago’

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have been in the news recently over the birth of their third child whom they had through surrogacy

The couple welcomed their baby girl on January 16th, 2018. Three days after the birth of the child, Kim revealed that they had decided to call their newborn, ‘Chicago’.

Kim shares a picture of the child’s name, captioned with the date, time and her weight – 71bs, 60z

She retweeted a post which explains how to pronounce the child’s name.

It read: “And to everyone who thinks it’s literally pronounced as CHI. No. It’s “Shy”And to everyone who thinks it’s literally pronounced as CHI. No. It’s ‘Shy'”

Chicago is Kanye’s hometown but it’s revealed that the child’s name is a tribute to Kanye’s mother Donda, who raised him up in Chicago all by her self after split from his father.

Meanwhile the surrogate who carried Kim and Kanye’s child, has been kept private. Though in September 2017, it was reported by TMZ that the surrogate is a married African-American college graduate with two children of her own, but an identity was not revealed
