Reasons why FAAN shutdown Abuja airport’s runway

The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on Thursday shutdown the run way of Nnamdi Azikwe Airport, Abuja as a private jet skidded off the runway and lost its landing gear.

On account of the breakdown, hundreds of passengers were left stranded as no flight was allowed in or out of the airport for over 30 minutes. Mrs Yakubu while notifying passengers of the decision said;

This is to enable the Authority to take safety precautions, as a private jet being operated by Nest Oil has just skidded off the Abuja runway.
