Rumours had it that there was bad blood between top female rappers, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B and truly the rappers haven’t had the best of relationship, but at the Met Gala, things seemed pretty cool with the two.
Nicki dressed in devilish red on Monday for the Catholic-themed Met Gala in New York City, took out time to chat with heavily pregnant Cardi B, who is expecting a child with rapper, Offset.
The rappers were both featured on the Migos song “MotorSport,” and apparently Nicki felt she was ambushed after Cardi suggested she’d re-recorded her verse to one-up her.
Recall that Ncki in an interview with Apple Music’s Beats 1 in April said;
“The first interview [Cardi] did after ‘MotorSport’ came out, it just really hurt me ’cause she looked so aggravated and angry. I kind of felt ambushed,”
“That really, really hurt me because I really fully supported [Cardi]. And up until this recent interview she did, I had never seen her show me genuine love in an interview. And I can only imagine how many girls wished they could’ve been on a song with Nicki Minaj. I’m not saying it in a cocky way … I’m saying it, like, the first thing out of your mouth when somebody asks you about a Nicki Minaj feature is, ‘She changed her verse.’ Excuse me?”
Well fans of Nicki and Cardi B have nothing to worry about but people are insinuating this is all for the camera, citing that Nicki threw shades at Cardi B while being interviewed on the Red Carpet.
“You know what, because I’m the bad guy, and I wanted to make sure that the bad guy was here,” Minaj said, throwing a look at the camera. She then announced her new album: “Album dropping June 15, it’s called Queen.” Nicki Said.
