Arsenal signs £1m deal with Jay Z's streaming company Tidal

Arsenal have signed a new commercial partnership deal worth £1million with Jay-Z’s music streaming service, Tidal.

Tidal is a company founded by the world famous rapper who is also an Arsenal fan.

Arsenal announced the partnership yesterday. In a statement the club said; “We’re delighted to launch a new partnership with global music and streaming platform TIDAL that celebrates our shared commitment to developing young talent.”

Gunners members can now access Tidal’s extensive music library, with Danny Welbeck, Hector Bellerin and Reiss Nelson already joining forces to share their playlist.

Through this new partnership, Arsenal fans who have bought Platinum or Gold memberships with the club for next season will be granted a free six month subscription to TIDAL’s hi-fi service, while Silver and Red members will be given access to the Premium service.

There are more than 50 million songs available to stream on TIDAL, which as founded by Jay-Z and a cohort of other musicians, including Beyonce, Kanye West, Rihanna and Usher, as a competitor to Apple Music and Spotify.

Vinai Venkatesham, Arsenal’s chief commercial officer, said: “Football and music are great passions of so many of our global supporters.

“This partnership combines these two passions in a unique way and will give our members access to some fantastic benefits.

“It is also a celebration of our shared belief in young talent, and will create opportunities to bring together our players with TIDAL’s rising artists.”

Meanwhile, Tidal’s Lior Tibon added:

“Football and music are two of the most universal languages around the world and we’re thrilled to spotlight promising young talent in both of those areas.

“This initiative is so synergistic with our shared belief in young talent – we’re looking forward to sharing an elevated music experience to Arsenal and its members.”
