Davido Did Not Vote In The 2019 General Elections And Here Is Why

Nigerian Singer, Davido is one of the people that have been actively speaking about the 2019 elections, encouraging Nigerians to go cast their votes, ‘preaching’ that their votes count and even inspiring them to defend the votes.

Now, the Presidential election has come and gone but it turns out that the 26-year-old singer did not show up to cast his vote. This development has made many Nigerians furious, especially the fact that he made fun of the issue in response to an angry fan who called him out. Most of his followers feel ‘used’ and are wondering how he could ‘push’ them to the polling units, knowing that he himself would be absent.

Although it seems like the postponement of the election from February 16th to February 23rd was the reason for his absence but the singer still went on to troll Nigerians who voted, implying that unlike others, he has a job.

It was gathered that Davido was in South Africa during the election process. He spoke about his absence in a recent tweet where he wrote in response to the angry troll who called him out:

“Was the election meant to be yesterday ? Thank you … unlike you I HAVE A JOB 😇
