Ezekiel Joseph Mayowa, a student of the Lagos State Polytechnic committed suicide after his girlfriend of 9 years allegedly broke up with him. The young man in a video claimed his girlfriend started putting up with a funny attitude after she went to NYSC camp. According to him, she reverted to an issue they had 3 years ago, and was using it as a basis for them to break up.
The young man identified as Mayowa, went live on his Facebook page, KingEzekiel Joseph Mayowa, were he was seen in his room crying while holding a bottle of sniper.
The 34-year-old after revealing the cause of his action, advised the Federal Government to scrap the National Youth Service Corp programme, as it was what led to him losing his girlfriend.
He explained that he has tried his best to win her beck, but it looked as though his girlfriend wanted someone who is financially buoyant. He says he’s been dating the said girl for 9 years, 3 months and 9 days.
Mayowa who committed suicide with sniper says he has pleaded repeatedly with his girl, but she refused. In the video, he apologized to his mother for what he was about to do, he mentioned a few othe names he claims he’d miss.
However, while confirming the news, the Lagos State Police said when interrogated, the girlfriend revealed that Mayowa was fond of beating her and that they were even together and he still beat her hours before he committed suicide.
A friend of Mayowa who shared the sad incident on Facebook, wrote;

Why did you have to do this to us, why did you have to take the life you never created yourself,
Just because of a girlfriend of 9years break up.
How i wish i knew last Sunday is the last day I’ll see you, I’ll have say a lot of things to you.
