Nigeria’s Media Mogul, Mosunmola ‘Mo’ Abudu chairs 47th International Emmys Award Gala

Mo becomes the first African to chair the prestigious Emmy Award Gala.

Mo Abudu has made a history as the first African to chair the International Emmys award gala. The 54-year-old media mogul achieved this fit barely 6 years after she began broadcasting EbonyLife TV in 2013.

She joins a list of accomplished media moguls to chair the International Emmys award gala, a separate organisation which is related to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS).

Past chairman of the International Emmys include Adriana Cisneros, the Venezuelan CEO of Grupo Cisneros who chaired the 31st edition; Elisabeth Murdoch, media executive and second daughter of Rupert Murdoch, who chaired the 36th edition; Charo Santos-Concio, Chief Executive Officer of ABS-CBN, who chaired the 43rd edition; and Andy Kaplan, ex-president of Sony Pictures Television Networks and chairman of the 45th edition.

The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will kick off preparation, on Tuesday, 18th June in New York. The International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, IATAS, is the body responsible for staging the International Emmy Awards.
