The aviation company that owns the private jet that flew Naira Marley and others over the weekend from Lagos to Abuja for his drive through concert has been suspended.
According the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, during a briefing of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, he stated that the aviation company violated the Federal government’s approval.
He stated that the flight was approved but certainly not for any musician. According to the minister, the flight from the application, was to convey Honourable Justice Adefope Okojie from Lagos to Abuja and back to Lagos for an official assignment because the judiciary is part of the essential services to be delivered, however, they used the approval to fly in Naira Marley.
Announcing the sanctions on the company, Hadi Sirika stated, “The operation is a clear violation of our approvals which we take seriously, it seems this is becoming a norm, it’s the second time, Execujet services are hereby suspended indefinitely.
We will also fine them maximally according to the law, the captain of the flight will be sanctioned for giving wrong information to the control tower.”
If you would recall, The Federal Capital Territory Ministerial Enforcement Task Force on COVID-19 restrictions has also sealed off the event’s venue for the Naira Marley’s concert indefinitely for violating the government’s directive on ban on public gathering.
