Contrary to reports making the rounds that rapper turned businessman Kanye West is stepping down from the United States presidential race, he has reportedly made his first official step by filling with the Federal Election Commission, seeking the office of President.
According to sources, Kanye filed the first form required by the Federal Election Commission to run for president, where he filled out form 1, Statement of Organization declaring that he will run with his party BDY, which stands for the Birthday Party.
Kanye West is now qualified to appear on Oklahoma’s presidential ballot, after meeting the requirements before the filing deadline.
Confirming his qualification, The Oklahoma State Election Board tweeted “Independent presidential candidate Kanye West has qualified for the General Election ballot in Oklahoma. (Today is Oklahoma’s deadline for Independent & Unrecognized Party presidential candidates to file statements of candidacy with their petitions or filing fee)”
Just so you know, a member of Kanye West’s campaign team, Steve Kramer, reportedly told New York Magazine’s Intelligencer off-shot that the rapper will no longer contest the election.
Steve words were “he’s out” even though he did not specify the reason for the alleged withdrawal.
There are however still concerns about Kanye’s 2020 presidential bid as he has already missed the deadline to qualify for the ballot in several states.
