20 Years On, ‘In Da Club’ by 50 Cent Earns Diamond Certification

“In Da Club” by 50 Cent has achieved Diamond certification from the RIAA, marking a significant milestone two decades after its initial release. This iconic track from the album “Get Rich Or Die Tryin'” has now surpassed 10 million units in sales in the United States and boasts over 1.2 billion Spotify streams, along with 1.8 billion YouTube views for its official music videos. This certification also represents 50 Cent’s first-ever Diamond plaque.

Produced by Dr. Dre and Mike Elizondo, “In Da Club” dominated the Billboard Hot 100 year-end chart in 2003, securing its place in music history. The timing of this certification aligns with the 20th anniversary of “Get Rich Or Die Tryin’,” which made a smashing debut in February 2003, claiming the top spot on the Billboard 200 and becoming the year’s best-selling album. Additionally, this album garnered 50 Cent five GRAMMY nominations, including Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group, Best Male Rap Solo Performance, and Best Rap Song.

While 50 Cent is currently celebrating the 20th anniversary of his debut album through a worldwide tour, he received uplifting news on November 1st when “In Da Club” achieved Diamond certification from the RIAA.

“In Da Club” catapulted 50 Cent to superstardom when it was released in 2003, reaching the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100 and serving as his breakthrough single.

Ultimately, in 2002, 50 Cent signed with Interscope Records, Dr. Dre’s Aftermath, and Eminem’s Shady Records.
