The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, winner of the election after results from all 30 local government areas were collated.

The election was held on Saturday, August 15, with INEC confirming the date as part of its 2026 governorship election timetable.

“As you don trust me for the second term, I no go disappoint you. I go correct my errors and Osun go witness growth,” he said.
The governor also extended an olive branch to his opponents, saying he would serve as governor for all residents of the state.
Davido celebrates his uncle’s victory
Adeleke’s victory also drew a reaction from his nephew, Afrobeats star Davido, who celebrated the result on social media.
The singer shared a brief message congratulating his uncle after INEC announced the result.
Adeleke’s re-election comes four years after he defeated then-incumbent Gboyega Oyetola in the 2022 Osun governorship election.
The latest result means Adeleke will remain in office for another four-year term as governor of Osun State.
