Beyoncé Becomes The First Black Woman To Claim Top Spot On Billboard’s Country Music Chart

American singer Beyonce continues to break barriers and ignore the naysayers as one year after becoming the artiste with the most Grammy wins in history, the Houston-born superstar has notched what once may have seemed an even more unattainable record, becoming the first Black woman to reach number one on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart.
‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ which debuted at the top of the Hot Country Songs list was released simultaneously with the single 16 Carriages which landed at number nine in a surprise song announcement during the Super Bowl on February 11.
The feat also made her the second solo female artiste to have a song go straight in at number one.
Taylor Swift was the first in 2021 with her re-recordings of Love Story and All Too Well.
The songs debuted at number two and number thirty-eight respectively on the Billboard Hot 100. Over the course of her solo career, the singer has topped the Hot 100 eight times.
Additionally, Beyonce is now the first woman to reach number one on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs since the lists began in 1958.
