The Illinois Supreme Court granted Heather Williams priority access to R. Kelly’s Sony Music royalty account, to pay the four million dollars default judgment awarded to Williams from a civil suit filed in 2019.

Just so you know, the victim, Heather Williams filed a civil suit in 2019 alleging that the singer coerced her into a sexual relationship when she was sixteen years old, promising that she could be in a music video and repeatedly had sex with her while she was a minor.

According to the Illinois Supreme Court ruling, Williams was first in line to receive money from Kelly’s Sony Music royalty account ahead of Midwest Commercial Funding, a property manager that won a separate three point five million dollars ruling against Kelly over unpaid rent for a Chicago studio.

If you would recall, R. Kelly was sentenced to thirty years in prison in June 2022 for federal sex trafficking charges, the embattled singer/songwriter was also found guilty on six counts of federal child pornography charges.

Tory Lanez Files An Appeal In Megan Thee Stallion Shooting Conviction

If you would recall, in December 2022, a Los Angeles jury found Tory guilty of discharging a firearm with gross negligence, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle, and due to this, he faces up to twenty-two years in prison and deportation.

According to new court documents filed by Tory’s legal team, Jose Baez and Matthew Barhoma, they stated that their client’s conviction should be thrown out because “irrelevant evidence” was presented in the trial thereby citing several procedural errors.

The new motion also claims prosecutors created a biased view of Tory using additional social media content. For example, prosecutors reportedly submitted a shirtless photo of Lanez to the court, citing identification reasons.

But, Baez and Barhoma claim prosecutors “revealed their true motive” when they asked a witness in December about seeing “the big gun that Tory has tattooed at the center of his chest.”

As a result, Tory’s legal team believes prosecutors “painted the artiste as a gun-wielding career criminal” by referencing his tattoos and music lyrics. Baez and Barhoma are relying on a new California law, AB 2799, to argue the prosecution’s references which deprived Tory of due process safeguards.

Tory Lanez has since maintained his innocence throughout the trial and previously pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is however scheduled to be sentenced on April 10.

Priya Chaudhry, Majors’ lawyer, told multiple outlets, that the woman, who has not been publicly identified, sent the texts in question to the “Creed III” actor, just hours after his arrest last weekend and “admitted that she was the one who used physical force against him.”

The texts, purportedly sent by the victim reads, “I told them it was my fault for trying to grab your phone,”, adding in the third text she wrote, “I read the paper they gave me about strangulation and I said point blank this did not occur and should be removed immediately,” and that “the origin of the call was to do with me collapsing and passing out and your worry as my partner due to our communication prior. Out of care.”

Another text sent a few hours later shows the woman claiming she’s working hard to make sure the district attorney doesn’t charge Majors.

Jonathan Majors was arrested for misdemeanour assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and harassment after the alleged victim reportedly saw another woman texting him, prompting her to try and sneak a peek at his cellphone.

has since stated that she was already in the process of gathering evidence to disprove those charges, claiming the aforementioned texts and video footage will clear Majors’ name, as he is the actual victim.

If you would recall, the actor was arrested last Saturday in New York on domestic violence allegations after a dispute with a thirty-year-old woman, who was taken to the hospital with minor injuries to her head and neck.

The Marvel star was however charged with misdemeanours, which include two counts of third-degree assault, second-degree aggravated harassment, and lesser charges of attempted third-degree assault, but his team has since denied the charges.

According to the DA’s office, a judge released Jonathan Majors on his recognizance while granting him a limited order of protection.

While speaking on the incident, the actor’s attorney, Priya Chaudhry, advised that there are “two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations.”

She added that they are presenting evidence to the DA, including “video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode.” Priya Chaudhry also expects the charges to be dropped.

Just so you know, the complaint does not name the female accuser but claims the defendant did “strike her about the face with an open hand, causing substantial pain and a laceration behind her ear.”

She also claims the defendant “put his hand on her neck, causing bruising and substantial pain.”

According to him, Islam only allows legally married couples to have intercourse, between mogrib and Solatul Subh (after breaking off the fast and after the pre-dawn meal) during Ramadan and having sex is exclusively forbidden for unmarried couples.

He said, “Muslims can copulate by the time they’ve taken their iftar, that’s after Solatul Mogrib. As long as they could eat, they are allowed to interact with their spouses till the time of Fajr.

“They are allowed to have intercourse with their wives or their husbands as long as they have the right to eat and drink.

“This is particularly about married men. If they are not married, intercourse is unlawful at any time. So, Islam only allows legally married couples to have intercourse, between Mogrib and Solatul Subh.”

To avoid being swept away by their emotions, the preacher cautioned Muslim couples to avoid each other when fasting (during the day).

He said that the prophet Muhammad (SAW) kissed his wife during Ramadan. He, however, advised Muslim couples to refrain from such acts if they know it would lead to having sexual intercourse.

He said, “During the day, Muslim couples should try and maintain decorum, so they wouldn’t be carried away by emotion.

“The husband should not engage in close interaction like hugging and the like so that temptation won’t overcome him.

“It was reported that the prophet used to kiss his wife but the scholars of Islam have explained that if the kiss would lead to higher emotional gestures, then they should avoid kissing.

“If the hugging also would lead to further action, then they should resist.”

The Marvel star was arrested last weekend in a Chelsea apartment after officers responded to a 911 call.

The woman, who told authorities she’d been assaulted, had minor injuries to her head and neck, so police brought her to the hospital for treatment and arrested Majors without incident.

Majors was arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court on six counts of third-degree assault, three counts of third-degree attempted assault and two counts of harassment.

After his arrest, the “Creed III” star according to his lawyer, Priya Chaudhry received multiple texts from the woman at the centre of the case “admitting that she was the one who used physical force against him.”

In the screenshots of messages that the lady is alleged to have sent, and in them, she promises to “make sure nothing happens about this” because “I told them it was my fault for trying to steal your phone.”

She added, “I love you.”

Hours later – after Majors, 33, didn’t respond – the woman followed up to tell him that she said “point blank” that the alleged strangulation “did not occur” and should be “removed immediately.”

She also said she was pushing for the district attorney not to file charges against Majors.

Chaudry later said her client was “completely innocent” and called Majors the victim in the situation.

“We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the District Attorney with the expectation that all charges will be dropped imminently,” Chaudhry said in a statement.

“This evidence includes video footage from the vehicle where this episode took place, witness testimony from the driver and others who both saw and heard the episode and most importantly, two written statements from the woman recanting these allegations,” Chaudhry’s statement continued, adding that Majors’ girlfriend was having an “emotional crisis” for which she was hospitalized.

The statement reads in part.“Habeeb Okikiola popularly known by his stage name Portable, in a viral video, was seen exhibiting irrational behaviour,”

“Hurling insults at Police officers carrying out their legal duty, an action which is criminal and punishable by the criminal laws of Nigeria.

“The action of the singer in the video was unruly and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace and incitement of violence against the officers who were detailed to execute a warrant of arrest on him for a series of allegations of criminal acts levelled against him.

“The NPF will take all necessary steps to investigate his actions and ensure that he is prosecuted for any criminal activity he may have committed depending on the severity of the offence.

“The Police will not condone any unruly act, assault or attack on its officers who are on lawful duty.

“We need to respect our law enforcement agents who perpetually take the risk of maintaining law and order and fight crimes and criminality in our society.”

The Ogun state police command earlier issued a three-day ultimatum to Portable to report himself.

“We’re expecting him to show up and if he doesn’t come, we are going after him. Only then will he know that he’s not bigger than the law,” the state police spokesperson had said.

In a tweet on Monday, Faith Oyedepo mentioned how her husband had instructed her to make him dinner after seeing her bleeding and fearing she was having a miscarriage when he got home.

She said,” “I remember when I was pregnant with our first son, one day I saw blood flowing from me, and when my husband returned home. I told him that I had a miscarriage. Boldly, and without any hesitation. He said, You can’t have a miscarriage!”, and then asked to be served his meal.

“That statement activated the spirit of faith and the pregnancy was sustained.”

The tweet galvanized outrage among many who called Doctor Oyedepo a chauvinist for not considering the plight of her wife who they claimed had suffered a miscarriage.

Reacting to this, Toolz via her Twitter page advised young women not to take Faith Oyedepo’s counsel.

She said “Pls don’t do this. If you’re bleeding from a possible miscarriage… go to the hospital. The last thing you should be doing is making food for anyone.”

Toolz also stated on her page, “I’m so annoyed! Nigeria has one of the worst maternal mortality rates in the world, and someone is here saying ignore bleeding during pregnancy and enter the kitchen.”

However, there were others, especially among believers of the faith that Oyedepo saw it as a demonstration of his faith that the miscarriage would not hold.
