Colombian singer/songwriter Shakira and her footballer ex Gerard Pique were said to be allegedly in an open relationship before accusations of infidelity, which led to a bitter separation and subsequent custody agreement over their two children.
The former couple confirmed the end of their eleven-year relationship in June 2022, shortly after former Barcelona and Spain footballer Pique was accused of cheating on the singer.
Gerard Pique who has since embarked on a new relationship with model Clara Chia Marti, later refuted claims of an affair, insisting there was no infidelity on his part while also stating that he was surprised by Shakira’s public announcement of their split.
Spanish broadcaster Jose Antonio Aviles has since insisted that the former couple had been in a mutually acceptable open relationship for three years before their separation.
