Isaac yesterday shared a video via his Facebook page of how herdsmen were moving their cows in streets of Ado-Ekiti.

Today Isaac alleges that 1,000 security men are holding Fayose hostage, all his mobile lines blocked.

His post reads;

as we speak, all the mobile lines of His Excellency Ayodele Peter Fayose has been blocked, and 1,000 Security officials blocking the Government House in Ekiti State. Nobody can leave the Government house as we speak!!! We are all being held Hostages in the Government House’.

 

‘We fear our lives, and the life of the Governor because they want to kill him. All the Television Stations and Radio Stations in Ekiti State have been shut down!!!! Media houses have been compromised . Please help us to share this message to people that can help us. We are all in danger!!!! Please don’t let Gov. Fayose die’ he wrote.

Confirming the incident, Fayose’s spokesman, Lere Olayinka said the SUV caught fire on the motion but the Governor was not in the vehicle.

“No casualty recorded. Cause of the fire not ascertained yet.

“There was an accident involving the governor’s vehicle on his way to the airport yesterday. Though he was meant to be in the vehicle, by providence, he was not there.

“What caused the sudden fire under the vehicle is yet to be ascertained,” Olayinka told New Telegraph in a telephone chat.

However, Former Minister of Aviation and a friend to Fayose, Femi Fani-Kayode however insists that it was a spiritual bomb that was thrown at the car.. See his tweet below.

Fayose was among the 17 Southern Governors, that converged in Lagos on Monday , to discuss crucial national issues.

The state Commissioner for Finance Toyin Ojo and the Accountant General, Mrs Yemisi Owolabi, were arrested on September 28th on grounds that they refused to honour previous invitations for interrogation in relation to a pending investigation on the misuse of bailout funds by the Ayodele Fayose administration.

After spending over a week in EFCC custody, they were released on Wednesday, October 11th. At the reception organized for them, Fayose said;

“By the grace of God, I will restructure the EFCC when I become the president of this nation.

I will reorganize EFCC and make it look responsible. They detained me in 2008, but I won them in court because the most high God was on my side. EFCC is a senseless body, because if they are not senseless, it should have known that the man who wrote the petition had been sacked because he didn’t deserve to be called a civil servant. The arrest of my officials was orchestrated by Ekiti indigenes in collaboration with the EFCC. I will never go and beg EFCC, it will rather beg me. I won’t negotiate anything because I am not afraid of them. There was a subsisting court that barred them from arresting any official of this state, but they breached the law’ he said

“They were picked up today following their refusal to honour previous invitations for interrogation in relation to pending investigation on the misuse of bail out funds by the Ayodele Fayose administration,” an EFCC spokesperson said in an email to PremiumTimes.

The officials were arrested on the same day the state governor, Ayodele Fayose, formally declared his intention to run for the 2019 presidential election on the platform of PDP.

The governor complained to the Acting Chief Justice, Justice Walter Onnoghen, that the ruling party was planning to compromise a section of the Judiciary and muzzle democracy to oust him from office.

Fayose said the essence of the plot was to silence him as the voice of the opposition, following his “refusal” to defect to the APC.

Vowing to intensify his criticism of the Muhammadu Buhari administration, he said: “I refused to be silenced. I will never be silenced.”

The governor told reporters in Lagos that APC chieftains were making subterranean moves to manipulate and compromise some judges to remove him through the back door.

He said this followed their failure to displace him through the ballot box, the election petitions tribunal, the Appeal and Supreme courts.

Fayose listed the arrowheads of the alleged plot as Oni and the Minister of Steel and Solid Minerals Kayode Fayemi.

He added: “The duo had boasted that ‘there is no going back on the latest plans to subvert the will of the people of Ekiti freely given, wrest the governance of Ekiti from me at all costs before the expiration of my tenure in October 2018 through orchestrated but dubious legal process. They will thereby render nugatory the sacred mandate given to me when I won in all the 16 local governments while the then incumbent Governor Kayode Fayemi recorded zero.”
