]]> Bella Shmurda has let us in on the reasons behind his skirt-wearing moments which have garnered quite the outcry on social media.

Self-acclaimed newborn Fela, Bella Shmurda has opened up on reasons why he’s been rocking skirts in an interview with media personality, Ebuka on the Rubbin’ Minds show.

According to the star, it’s a form of brand identity for him and also a means of promoting African culture. Bella Shmurda stated; “This is my own way of being unique, every artiste has a way of being identified, this is mine to promote African culture.”

With further mention from Ebuka of the controversial aftermath of his skirt-clad appearance at the BB Naija show, Bella Shmurda added he’d been rocking skirts for two years and that while he wasn’t wearing skirts to chase clout, he used them and his art as a form of expression.

Bella Shmurda previously rocked a skirt for his performance at the BB Naija live show some weeks ago and also wore a skirt in the video of his hit single, Rush. Coincidentally the star was also wearing one during his interview with Ebuka.

The Lagos State University (LASU), where Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda was apparently a student has taken to Twitter to urge the singer to return to the classroom to complete his degree programme.
It all started when Bella Shmurda who just celebrated his birthday tweeted, “I now worth over half a billion streams (550millions streams to be precise).
I for still dey Lasu dey wine and dine with carryovers and stranded with nothing in my pocket… forever glad I did my thing.”
That tweet apparently caught the attention of the school, who through their Twitter handle replied the singer writing, “Happy birthday @fineboybella. Glad you have come this far pursuing your dream.
Also glad @LASUOfficial played a part in your beautiful story because Univ. don’t make people rich, only incubate them to find and achieve purpose. BTW, please come back to class and earn your degree.”
