The Judge, Justice Ahmed Mohammed ruled that the case case lacked merit, because the fact that Gaidam was sworn-in three times does not mean he is the Governor for a third term as he was only elected in 2011 and 2015.

Governor Gaidam stated this while inspecting renovation works currently being executed at GSS Gwio-kura of bade Local Government Area of the state.

Gaidam revealed that with the security problem gradually fading away, his administration will ensure students receive lectures under conducive atmosphere that will encourage school enrollment and leaning in the state.

Saying his administration will dare any threat poise by Boko Haram to encourage teaching and learning in schools across Yobe state.

Supporters of the elected chairmen and other well-wishers across the state and beyond stormed the venue of the swearing in to give the elected chairmen  moral support on their day of glory.

The chairmen took the oath of office, assuring that they will  justify the confidence the people reposed in them.

In his speech after the swearing in, Governor Gaidam said the issue of Local Government autonomy has remained a contentious issue in the country and suggested that it should be handled with caution as elected chairmen could sometimes be financially reckless to the detriment of the people.

He urged the chairmen to enhance revenue generation, revitalise the education sector, health care services, agriculture and continue the laudable initiatives of the state government aimed at improving the lives of the people.

The governor also tasked them to utilised their allocation to influence infrastructure development in their councils and  fight the ghost worker syndrome.

The Governor commended the Yobe state Independent Electoral Commission for holding a successful election and also praised security agents and well-meaning people of the state for ensuring a successful polls, saying it is a thing of pride that the state has joined the league of other sister states that have entrenched democracy at the grassroots.

Yobe state Correspondent Michael Oshomah reports that Yobe state capital is now a sprawling modern metropolis with good road
network, an improved water supply system, better health-care facilities and a better drainage system.

Work is ongoing in Damaturu on its township roads.

The purpose of this reconstruction and overlaying is to decongest traffic within the capital city.

In spite of the rapid development the Gaidam administration is putting in place for people of the state, some people still say it is waste of resources.

But the Commissioner for works , Shettima Ali , had this to say on the issue.

The Manager supervising the road project threw more light on the importance of the reconstructed major roundabout.
