The hip injury occurred during a match against Mackenzie McDonald at the Australian Open in January, and Nadal has since faced challenges in finding a solution. Reflecting on the past few months, he shared, “[They] have been incredibly tough because we haven’t been able to resolve the issue that arose in Australia. Consequently, I find myself in a position where I’m still not feeling completely myself and ready to meet the required standards for participating in Roland-Garros.”

With a professional tennis career spanning 22 years, Nadal has achieved remarkable success, securing 22 men’s singles Grand Slam titles—equalling the record set by Novak Djokovic. His triumphs include 14 victories at the French Open, two at the Australian Open, four at the U.S. Open, and two at Wimbledon.

Regarding his future plans, Nadal remained uncertain about whether this would mark his final tournament before retirement. “I prefer not to make any definitive statements at this point. It is best to keep my options open and assess the most suitable calendar moving forward,” he explained.

Earlier this year, Nadal had to withdraw from matches in Monte Carlo, Monaco; Madrid; and Rome due to his injury. However, he expressed his desire to participate in the Olympics, which will be held in Paris next summer
