The Minister of Communications, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has traveled to the Republic of Belarus to attend an International conference on space technology, a forum where he will showcase the high potential of the country before the international community. He added that the meeting will improve the nation’s cyber space and technology sector.

His Special Assistant on Media, Victor Oluwadamilare, explained that the visit coincided with the award of a Carrier Spectrum Management (CSM) contract to one of the agencies in the ministry, NIGCOMSAT by the Republic of Belarus.

Besides attending the conference, Barrister Shittu would also pay a working visit to China where he’s expected to meet with leading telecommunications players.

Determined to woo investors to the Information Communication and Technology (ICT) sector, the Minister of Communications is expected to attend the launch of Belitersat-1 satellite in the country which would afford him the opportunity to sell Nigeria’s vast potential in the sector to investors all over the world.

Meanwhile, NIGCOMSAT has become the first company in the African continent to tender and win the bid to provide a CSM and In- Orbit Test (IoT) services for Belitersat-1 which belongs to the Republic of Belarus.
