A 200 level student of Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu-Alike Ikwo (AE-FUNAI), Ebonyi State, Ogboji David Chukwuebuka, has reportedly slumped in the school and died.
There was a football competition in the school organised by the Directorate of Sports of the Students Union Government (SUG) of the school.
Ogboji, who was in the Department of Economics in the institution, was among those selected by his faculty to play against the Faculty of Biological Science during the freshers’ league tournament of the university.
But Ogboji, popularly known as Bernardo, reportedly slumped on the pitch during the competition and was rushed to a clinic in the university, after which he was taken to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.
