No fewer than 80 persons have registered to take part in a mass wedding sponsored by the Jigawa state government, a local government information officer, Nasiru Yusif has disclosed.
The new suitors comprised of 40 men and 40 women, Yusif added.

Yusif added that the Chairman of the Local Organising Committee for the wedding in the area, Abdullahi Basirka, announced the figure during a stakeholders meeting which took place in Gwaram on Thursday, November 17.
The committee would visit the District Head of the area to enlist his support in educating people on the importance of the programme.
Yusif added that the Council Chairman, Ilu Shuwarin, has pledged the council’s support towards hosting the mass wedding successfully.
