Senators gather to pray and celebrate Saraki’s court case victory

After the CCT ruling in favor of Saraki yesterday, Christian and Muslim Senators converged to offer prayers of thanksgiving to God for vindicating him.

An elated Senate President Bukola Saraki says Wednesday’s Code of Conduct Tribunal ruling has further renewed his faith and restored his hope in the nation’s judiciary.

He made the declaration after the Tribunal struck out his False Assets Declaration trial which had dragged on for the past two years.

According to him : “The conclusion of this trial has vindicated my position. With the outcome of this case, our faith is renewed in our courts and our hope is restored that the judiciary in our country could indeed provide sanctuary for all those who seek justice.”

Similarly, Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu has described Saraki’s discharge and acquittal by the CCT, as a victory for democracy.

Ekweremadu said it did not come to the upper chamber as a surprise.

He likened the acquittal to the forgery and conspiracy charges earlier leveled against him and the Senate President, but which were later withdrawn by the Federal Government.
