I never lost the hunger that brought me into the music industry – Sound Sultan

Sound Sultan is a Nigerian rapper, singer-songwriter, actor, comedian and recording artist who is regarded as one of the pacesetters of modern hip hop music in Nigeria.

Olanrewaju fasasi (his real name) is 40 years with seven albums explained on WakeUpNigeria his journey in the entertainment industry.

He noted that he was the first and might still be the first artiste to create a collaboration between two labels.

“In making my second album, I made a collaboration between two labels; Dove entertainment and Kennis music. I was one of the first and maybe still the first artiste that created a a collaboration between two labels. No be fight, if you want out of a contract, just do it the gentle man way and communicate well.”.

He then explained that he started with poem.

“I keep getting hungry to get better and never lost the hunger that brought me into the music industry. I started as a poet, I wanted to be different so I wrote poems in pidgin with a lot of humour in it. In the university, if you greet me, there is trouble o because my responses were always long rhymes and they leave you surprised and wondering.”
