The New Minimum Wage of N30,000, Acceptable or Ridiculous?

The Federal Government and the Nigerian Labour Congress finally came to conclusion on the minimum wage. So henceforth, it has been affirmed that N30, 000 will be the minimum wage for workers in Nigeria.

A cross section of civil servants in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for receiving the report on the new minimum wage for workers.

Some of the workers, who spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in separate interviews, also commended labour unions for their commitment to the implementation of the new minimum wage.

They appealed to the Federal Government to expedient action on the proposed new minimum wage in the interest of the nation’s working class.

However, considering a family consisting of husband, wife and children, is N30,000 sufficient? Watch the ladies of Your View draw different perspective earlier on the show.
