It is understandable, but it is not in line with Scriptures, or with the Great Commission of Jesus Christ in particular, that Mike Bamigboye should ask musicians, actors and all those in the showbiz business who started their careers in the church to return to the church as they “started from the church and are now doing secular music and using their career to please the world”.
Instead, he should urge should people to use the anointing they received through the Church to preach the gospel in the secular world. Each local church should be seen as a “sending ground” for members to go “into the World” with their talents.
Such people, regardless of the nature of their talents, should see their place in the world not just as the opportunity for the means of their livelihood but as their own opportunity to reach the world with the Word. The church of God is a church without walls; it is not just a place for worship, let alone for entertaining their members, and this is what most churches in Nigeria are.
