American rapper Megan Thee Stallion has made history as the first Black woman to ever grace the cover of Forbes’ annual 30 under 30 lists.

Announcing on their official Instagram page, Forbes wrote, “Since 2019, Megan has surged ahead on hip-hop’s inside rail, leaping from five hundred dollars gigs in her hometown of Houston to partnering with music’s biggest stars, Beyonce, Nicki Minaj, BTS and Dua Lipa. She is the first Black woman to cover the Forbes Under 30 issue.”
According to the business publication, the twenty-seven-year-old brought in an impressive thirteen million dollars in 2022 through record royalties, ticket sales, merchandise and endorsements, citing billion-dollar brands such as Nike, Revlon, Cash App, Popeyes, Netflix, Time Inc. and Flamin’ Hot Cheetos as major players in her earnings.
To discuss her rising empire for her cover story, in a sit down with Forbes writer, Jabari Young, Megan said, “I can’t slow down right now, I’ll take a break when I’m dead. I’m trying to really build something.
When I start sitting, I feel like I’m not doing enough or I’m giving somebody else the opportunity to pass me.”
She added, “It’s really hard to be the first something in 2022. I want to be bigger than just my music. I want people to know Megan as everything that she ever wanted to be.
Megan the artiste. I feel I’ve always liked to dabble and dab in a lot of different things, and I feel like I got that from my mom and my dad.
The Houston rapper who first landed on Forbes’ annual 30 under 30 lists in 2019 opened up during the interview about her many aspirations, saying that it’s become abundantly clear she’s not one-dimensional now that she’s getting into acting.
Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion is currently gearing up for the release of her third studio album, a trip around the globe to perform for the Hotties and work on her Netflix deal that will produce several shows, including a comedy based on her childhood.
