Maguire took to Twitter to state, “The manager informed me of his decision to change the captaincy during our discussion today. He explained his reasons, and although I’m personally very disappointed, I will continue to give my utmost effort whenever I wear the Manchester United shirt.”
Expressing gratitude to the club’s fans, Maguire said, “I want to extend a huge thank you to the Manchester United supporters for their incredible support throughout my time as captain.
