Barcelona Secures €130 Million in La Liga TV Rights for the Season

FC Barcelona has confirmed a significant financial boost this season, securing €130 million in TV rights revenue from La Liga. This substantial amount comes as a result of their impressive second-place finish in the league, secured by their decisive 3-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Sunday night.

This achievement not only guarantees Barcelona a spot in the Spanish Super Cup next season but also a considerable share of La Liga’s overall TV rights distribution, which totals around €1.5 billion for the season. Of this total, 8.5% is allocated to support non-professional football and other sports, with the remaining €1.373 billion distributed among the 20 La Liga teams.

The distribution model involves a fixed income portion of about €37.5 million for each team, regardless of their league standing. The remaining funds are allocated based on the teams’ final positions. As the league champions, Real Madrid will receive approximately €143 million, while Barcelona’s runner-up finish ensures they receive €130 million, combining their fixed income with a percentage-based allocation.

This financial boost is vital for Barcelona as they continue to rebuild and strengthen their squad for future competitions, highlighting the importance of their consistent top-tier performance in securing financial stability and competitive advantage.
