I’ll expose those behind ghost workers -Gov. Gaidam

Yobe State governor, Ibrahim Gaidam has threatened to expose those behind ghost workers in thestate.

The governor who spoke at the swearing in of four members of the Judicial Service Commission in the state, lamented the level at which local governments are being short-changed even by top government officials and senior citizens of the state

Yobe state Correspondent Michael Oshomah reports that the governor, while addressing the gathering, informed them that he has the names of top government officials who have illegally put their wives and children on the local government payroll.

He  called on them to remove such individuals immediately.

While admitting that the damage began a long time ago, the governor vowed to  handover those behind the ghost workers syndrome to the law enforcement agencies for prosecution,  if they do not turn a new leaf.

Governor Gaidam projects that as much as  N2 billion could be saved annually if ghost workers get kicked out of the system.

He traced the ghost workers phenomenon in the state to the year 1991, noting that his intervention lately explains why his administration has been able to pay salaries every month across the state, without any hitch.
