Over the weekend, rap superstar Nicki Minaj went on an explosive rant on X (formerly Twitter), accusing key figures within Jay-Z’s Roc Nation of sabotage, manipulation, and surveillance — all of which, she claims, have contributed to her decision not to release new music.
Minaj expressed her frustration over Lil Wayne being overlooked for the recent LIX Super Bowl Halftime Show held in New Orleans, despite his deep ties to the city. Instead, Kendrick Lamar was selected, and Nicki insinuated behind-the-scenes politics were at play. In a cryptic post, she threatened to reveal damaging secrets: “Needing the Barbz is at an all time high for every distraction. So let me start talking about what I’ve found out. About them. Real juicy. Confirmations.”
Using hashtags like #PaidMoles and #OrderInTheCourt, Nicki hinted at a broader conspiracy targeting her and her family. She accused Roc Nation CEO Desiree Perez of planting surveillance devices and having her daughter, Demoree Hadley, institutionalized under false pretenses. Nicki also shared court documents backing Hadley’s claim that her mother orchestrated a plot against her and her husband.
Minaj alleged attempts to separate her own husband, Kenneth Petty, from their family and suggested her online platforms had been infiltrated. “They’ve had access to my accounts on all platforms,” she wrote. “I didn’t change the passwords either… Would you continue working in a field where you were maliciously being kept away from your audience?”
While some critics dismissed her tweets as publicity stunts, Minaj insists the silence around her music is due to a larger, disturbing issue. She ended her tirade by urging her fans to document any social media censorship related to her posts or Demoree’s case.
