Davido has thrown down a $1 million hit battle challenge to any artist ready for a hit-for-hit versus, declaring that he is open to taking on anybody.
In a recent interview with streamer Darel, the Afrobeats star said, “I will put down a million dollars. I’m willing to do a versus with anybody.” He went further, insisting that nobody has more hits than him.
The comments come amid an ongoing conversation among Nigerian music fans about which artists have the strongest catalogues for a potential hit battle. Names that continue to come up include Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, 2Baba, D’banj, P-Square and 9ice.
With more than 15 years in the industry and a catalogue packed with major Nigerian and international hits, Davido clearly believes he has enough ammunition to take on anyone.
His $1 million hit battle challenge now puts a price tag on that confidence, although no artist has officially accepted the challenge or been named as his opponent.
For now, there is no official opponent or confirmed hit battle but Davido has made it clear that he is ready to put his money where his mouth is.
The question is not whether Davido can win, it’s who actually thinks they can beat him?
