A former chairman of the Okitipupa Local Government Area of Ondo State, Niyi Pirisola has been killed by some unknown gunmen in Ilu Tuntun on Friday.
It was gathered that the former council boss was on his way home from church when the alleged killers accosted him and shot him at a close range.
He was said to have given up the ghost on the way to the hospital.
The Ondo State chapter of the PDP, has expressed shock over the incident, describing the act as inhuman.
The party is calling on all security agencies in the state to bring the perpetrators of this dastardly act to book.
